This volume analyzes the bureaucratic politics associated with attempts to implement the Congressional mandate calling for women's integration into the U.S. Agency for International Development (AID) programs in developing countries. The author outlines the politics of AID from the point of view of both foreign assistance and the internal bureaucracy of the agency itself. She also examines new AID mandates relating to population, the environment, natural resources, and other areas.
