This is an account of ten violent deaths - eight murders and two manslaughters - which took place in the Wharfe and Aire valleys of the West Riding of Yorkshire between 1905 and 1966. Some of the murders were particularly shocking, some remain unsolved. The author's research utillses local newspaper accounts, the Public Record Office and interviews with local people and has produced a fascinating book about the darker side of the West Riding of Yorkshire.
