The Confessions of Jean Jacques Rousseau

Jean Jacques Rosseau's idea of 'Noble Savage' had tremendous impact on European culture. In the aftermath of the publishing of his Emile: Ou De I'Education (A New System of education)and Du Contract social (A Treatise of social contract), he was threatened with arrest in france, and both the books were banned in Geneva. He took refuge in England in 1766, where he began to compose Confessions, his autobiography, written in simple, elegant prose, it is a model of readability and frankness.
