Tom Leonard's recorded this CD before an audience on April 29th in the Scottish Trades Union Centre during an alternative festival held for people wanting to get away from the media-saturation of that day's royal wedding. The resulting CD presents a wide selection from the award-winning gathering Outside the Narrative (Poems 1965-2009) including early dialect poems and up to the sequence "An Ayrshire Mother" in memory of the poet's mother. Also included is a selection of his recent translations of songs from Brecht's Mother Courage and her Children in which Mother Courage speaks in the voice of an ordinary working-class Scotswoman.
