The story of hurling legend, Terence "Sambo" McNaughton. Sambo first played the game in the Glens of Antrim, in Cairns, just outside Cushendall, and by the age of 16 he was playing in a county final against Ballycastle. Sambo has since captained club, county and provincial sides.

This work tells the story of hurling legend, Terence "Sambo" McNaughton. McNaughton first played the game in the Glens of Antrim, in Cairns, just outside Cushendall, improvizing with broken sticks and bean cans. By the age of 16 he was playing in a county final against Cushendall's old rivals, Ballycastle. In 1989, following a win over the Offaly side, McNaughton played in the All-Ireland final. An All-Star award was given to the player in 1991. In this book, he speaks about the ups and downs of his career, his opinions on safety in the game, discipline, the media and referees. McNaughton tells what it was like playing in Northern Ireland, against the backdrop of the Troubles. He has captained club, county and provincial sides, and here describes the feelings of playing in front of 50,000 people one week and 50 the next.
