"Retfaerd" Pierre Bourdieu
From Law to Legal Field

In many of his publications, the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002) provided the outline of the sociology of the legal field. He addressed law and legal profession as key elements of the development of modern society. This work is dedicated to the sociology of law of Pierre Bourdieu.

This special issue of "Retfaerd" is dedicated to the sociology of law of one of the great social theorists of the late 20th century, the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002). In his extensive catalogue of publications, Bourdieu provided the outline of a sociology of the legal field. Moreover, in his many studies of other social fields and especially in his indepth analyses of the State, he addressed law and legal profession as key elements of the development of modern society."Retfaerd" is a jurisprudential magazine, and it is published four times a year by a Nordic editorial team. The magazine is an open forum for critical jurisprudence.
