Pesch, a German Jesuit scholar and economist, wrote the longest, most exhaustive economics text ever written. The five-volume "Lehrbuch der National okonomie" examines all serious economic thinking up until Pesch's time. This work provides an English translation of the works of Pesch.

The entire body of economic knowledge is set forth in a sequential logically consistent fashion. Unlike many modern texts which employ mathematical symbols profusely, the Lehrbuch uses them not at all. Pesch's claim to being scientific lies in the systematic manner in which he presents the course of the economic process from production, to exchange and the pricing process, to income and the basis for distributing it among the various factors which contribute to the production of goods and services.
