The work, in two volumes, contains 40 comprehensive studies on Ancient Indian Law, each of which is an entity in itself. The first volume is consisted of articles on ancient Indian Law based on Dharmasastras, the Smrtis and the Arthasastras. The second volume deals with the application of law and its faithful reflection in Sanskrit literary works. The work more or less touches all aspects of law and presents a vivid picture of that time.
