Links between Ireland and Latin America have always been strong. Because of the experience of missionaries, traders and soldiers, there is great Irish interest in countries such as El Salvador and Argentina. This book documents historical and present-day links and argues that Latin America and Ireland have similar problems to overcome, such as coming to terms with a colonial legacy and finding an appropriate model for economic development.
