Gudjon Ketilsson

Ever since Ketilsson (1956) graduated from the Icelandic College of Art & Crafts, he has been known for promoting the Icelandic crafts movement. Though his subject matter varies throughout his subtle work; his favourite material still remains wood. In this book, Ketilsson brings together a collection of his work made from 1990 to 2010. Special works such as ‘Memoria Australia’ and ‘The Carved Wooden Shoes series’, which marked a key moment in Ketilsson’s development, are featured at length. A text by Ólafur Gislason accompanies this monograph which provides an insight in the artist’s work and his role in Icelandic culture.
