"Cross Country" is a four-level course for ten or 11 year old beginners. Features include: initial slow pace, increasing as pupils gain more confidence; regular grammar units involving the pupils in active understanding; systematic pronunciation practice; and more.

"Cross Country" is a four-level course for ten or 11 year old beginners. Features include: initial slow pace, increasing as pupils gain more confidence; regular grammar units involving the pupils in active understanding; systematic pronunciation practice; vocabulary learning through cognates; active participation in building up word banks; listening based on dialogues, songs, music, special effects - and children's voices; introduction to English-speaking culture in relation to the pupil's own society. The cross-cultural element of "Cross Country" is provided through the presence of real-life children: Max from London and Brigitte from Montreal. Learners are thus introduced to language, topics and activities appropriate to their age group. A "scrapbook" element in the workbooks encourages them to build up parallel records of themselves and their own lives - in English.
