This English translation of "Le Regole Della Musica: Indagine Sui Meccanismi Della Communicazione" uses the authors' own computer program to analyse cantatas by Giovanni Legrenzi in order to consider the rules of melody and develop a theory of melody useful for re-examining western musical styles.
