A paper that outlines the action that the UK Government is taking to - move the UK from recession to recovery and forge a new model of economic growth; restore trust and accountability to the political system through democratic reform and renewal; and, modernise our public services and national infrastructure.

The policies address global and domestic challenges, including: globalisation; the threat of climate change; restoring public trust in politics and democracy; meeting rising expectations of public service (particularly in the National Health Service and education); supporting families in an ageing society; and, strengthening civic responsibility. Annexes include the Government's draft legislative programme for 2009-10, a list of major forthcoming policy publications, and lists of key deliverables for 2009-10 and 2011 to 2020.
