This series introduces the young reader to major art areas and the artists who contributed to their development. During these periods there were different art styles being created in different parts of the world, many of which are included in this series.

This series employs a multi-cultural approach, dealing with art from around the world, looking at how different cultures, countries and eras have had their own influence on the most celebrated art movements. Starting with movements such as Realism, discovering early Impressionism in the 1870s, through pointillism to post impressionism, this title looks at all aspects of Impressionism. Taking artists such as Monet and Seurat as a starting point this title looks at how Impressionism influenced subsequent art, and how its artists were influenced by other cultures, countries and eras.
