Placing emphasis on the AQA specifications, this series aims to support the examined components of English at GCSE. Adopting a twin-track approach, it comprises two Students' Books, "Assessing GCSE English - Reading Skills" and "Assessing GCSE English - Writing Skills", along with two accompanying Teacher's Resource Books.

Each Teacher's Book offers resources for differentiation, including advice on how to help Foundation Tier students improve from D to C Grade and how to encourage Higher Tier students to improve from A to A
* Grade. It includes marking schemes and guidance according to the relevant Assessment Objectives Reading (AO2 i-v) and Writing AO3 i-iii), offering comprehensive advice and support. It contains a wealth of photocopiable material, including information about genres, writing frames and summaries of literature to support students in preparing for the exam.
