The death in 1999 of Nyerere, the first president of Tanzania, left a cavern in the consciousness and conscience of the people of Africa. Nyerere was not just a player on the national terrain but a Pan-Africanist and internationalist - in thoughts, writings and, crucially, in his practice. This book contains contributions from leading commentators.
