This work focuses on a case-based learning approach for addressing various situations with physical disability clients or patients in occupational therapy treatment. Each case is presented along with individualized worksheets to direct the student through this case-based learning. A compilation of 35 physical disabilities case studies, this workbook aims to help students develop self-directed and clinical reasoning skills for effective practice in today's ever-changing health care arena. Through this case-based approach, students learn how to learn. This workbook describes the basis of case-based approach, the tutorial group process including identifying issues, finding and evaluating resources, sharing and applying information to a case study problem, tutorial group member responsibilities, and group dynamics. The workbook includes orthopaedic, rheumatic diseases, amputations, spinal cord injuries, hand injuries, injured workers and workers at risk, strokes, brain injury, and multiple sclerosis case studies.
