The book is sequentially organized from the historical background of occupation as the basis of occupational therapy, to its use as therapeutic intervention. In this updated fourth edition, a significant increase in theoretical material has been added, as well as three new chapters discussing occupation, learning strategies, and activity adaptation. The text is divided into four modules that demonstrate the historical foundations of the use of occupation as the basis for practice, as well as the dimensions, therapeutic utilization, and versatility of activity as treatment.
